I enjoy watching food shows especially the show “Chopped”.
In my creative thinking I thought of a show that would bring culinary chefs
together with members of America’s volunteer fire departments. Here is how the
show works. Volunteers are called to their fire station for an impromptu drill,
Fire in The Kitchen. To their surprise and in honor of them a culinary chef is
revealed from behind the stage. The show goes on live while the firefighters
are on call; they are on call twenty fours hours a day, seven days a week,
three hundred and sixty five days of the year. If the fire station is called to
an alarm the show goes on with department family members remaining.
So here is my idea in detail:
Fire In The Kitchen; Cooking for the Vollies!
Culinary chef surprises volunteer firefighters by cooking
for them at the firehouse. The show is live and at any time the station can
receive an emergency call. As they say in show business the show must go on.
The chef continues cooking for the remaining audience whom also consists of
volunteer family members.
The volunteer fire stations are randomly selected and the
departments can sign up to be on a waiting list via email.
The members are assembled at the station after being called
to the firehouse for a “Fire in The Kitchen Drill”. The surprise chef is
revealed as he/she appears from behind the stage curtain and announces for
example, “Hello Lake City Fire and Rescue!”
The chef can be randomly selected or they can choose a
volunteer firehouse they wish to surprise.
