Do you know how much this collection is worth? From the eBook of short stories "Do Not Disturb:This is my reading time" by author Roger J Lown.

    You have been invited to someone’s home for coffee and cake. You have a delightful conversation and then your host invites you to look at their family heirlooms or the much-embellished room where they have all their valuable collectibles. They show you an item and ask you if you like it then they ask, “Do you know how much these fancy collectible plates are worth?” From knickknacks and vintage china to classic cars and antique tools, most hosts always ask their guests this same question.
Whenever I hear this question, in my mind I’m thinking,” yeah it’s worth whatever a person decides to grease your palms with….” Your host may think their old antique china set is worth five hundred bucks,’ but if no one offers any money for it then that dainty dish set sits on the shelf merely collecting dust. I’m sure it may be worth a lot of money in theory, but the host’s pockets are still empty. Your classic car may be worth ten thousand dollars, but if the only buyer you have offers you two-grand you would take it. Otherwise, if you don’t take the offer-the car sits and collects dust, and eventually in time will rust out. This just doesn’t make any sense to me. Isn’t the point of having collectibles and valuables to make some money?

   I watched this show where this successful gentleman amassed a great fortune from an idea he sold. The owner gave the show host a tour of his mega basement that contained over fifty-motorcycles. One of the bikes was brand new, had no mileage on it, and the man bought it just to basically add it to his motorcycle collection. If I had money like that to spend, I’d rather buy a motorcycle and give it to a less fortunate deserving person who longed for the freedom of being a biker than to add it to my senseless collection in order to fulfill my ego. That’s the same as the person who owns multiple estate homes with dozens of bedrooms and bathrooms like a private motel for tax write off purposes, and yet there are homeless people whose bed is the hard often wet and dirty sidewalk with the curb as their pillow.
Friendship is priceless, yet the least collected, and the most rare to be found.

What is click trust? It sounds like a bank or a financial security. Click trust, for this topic anyway, is when you visit the Facebook page or YouTube video channel of an entrepreneur you trust, enjoy, and click one of their links to a product they are selling or recommend. Or the link may lead to you to further information on the person and what they do. Links are Internet computer codes that when clicked on, transport you safely and securely through cyber space to a site such as Amazon.com where you are brought directly to the product being offered. Which is why click-trust is so important to a visitor, and keeping that trust is vital to the Internet entrepreneurs business.

For example, when you go to YouTube and type in Roger J Lown, you are brought to my channel where I have 36 videos posted to date. Below the video description box you will find information as well as product links like this one for example of my book, “Change Your Life Through WRITING” https://amzn.to/2B2yBcE. When clicked on, the link brings you directly to my book listing on amazon.com. I tried the link here in my post and it doesn’t seem to work. However if you go to YouTube, type in Roger J Lown you will be brought to my channel where clicking on this link below my video will bring you to my Amazon listing.

Many entrepreneurs young and old have flocked to YouTube producing their informational videos with links to more information, recommended products, or the products the video owner is selling. The same goes for Facebook and other social platforms, where entrepreneurs provide a service and have a business page where they provide their links. This is very good for entrepreneurs as well as visitors to such pages, sites, and blogs. The biggest hurdle for an honest, hard working Internet entrepreneur to get over is forming trust for the visitor enough for them to feel they are clicking safely and securely on your link to be transported for a future purchase. Many entrepreneurs on YouTube also use Ads on their channels as a source of added income, but that’s another topic to cover later in the future.

As an author and entrepreneur I use links to provide my visitors more information about my writing work and me. But regarding the sensitive issue of clicking on a link to purchase a product I go with two reliable and trusted online commerce companies; Amazon for merchandise where my books are sold and products I recommend, and PayPal for purchases and payments. I use PayPal with my eBay account and I have had a positive experience. Also I am an Amazon Associate and they have earned my trust. I have explored other commerce companies, however many are copycats of Amazon and newer so these companies have yet to prove themselves worthy of click-trust to future customers.

In conclusion, for entrepreneurs, gaining the visitors trust to click on links for information as well as product purchase may take time and patience. But the way I see it, for the entrepreneur who works the hardest at providing the best information possible and trusted links to products, along with having a great deal of patience, this future way of purchasing products may turn out to be a positive experience for entrepreneur and visitor.

What would you click on?

I have viewed videos on YouTube and noticed the links in the description box below the video. I researched this area to find out about links, what they are for and what they do. Links are Internet computer codes that when clicked on bring a person to a page of information or to a site such as Amazon if the author of the video is selling or recommending a product. For an entrepreneur it is an honest and well-worked way of making an income by providing a service to the viewer.  

Links that lead to an information page or an Internet store where recommended products can be found can also be found on an entrepreneur’s site or page such as Facebook, a blog, or a web site purchased be the entrepreneur. The question I have is this; are viewers on YouTube and readers on Facebook, blogs, and websites actually clicking on these links and making purchases? If they are not my next question when will this way of shopping and receiving information become another form of future practice?

I have tested a few links on YouTube and a few on other sites and they seem to work fairly well, although purchased a product through such avenues as Internet links. I also performed some brief research on YouTube with the question, “Do People Click on Links” and the answer that appeared most was the question if the potential customer had trust in the owner of the video, blog, or site.

My research and past experience tells me that if potential customers don’t click on an entrepreneur’s links below their video or in their post or page, chances are the curious but cautious clicker does not click the link to products. Links to information seem to be less risky, so a viewer may click on links for more information.

One entrepreneur on YouTube suggested that the owner of the video who is providing information or products for purchase make a video or a blog post asking viewers and readers if they would like more information and where to how to purchase products to comment and contact the owner of the video, post, or blog. In my opinion this is a very good idea of asking the viewers of video and readers of posts and blogs what they would trust and feel comfortable and secure with.

Do you remember staring out your classroom window in a daydream state of mind only to be scolded by your teacher for not paying attention in class? As a writer I don’t call this daydreaming. I call it creative thinking. But creative thinking requires writing your thoughts on paper. Then you decide, plan, and take actions steps. Working your dreams requires hard work until your dream happens. Quitting and blaming others for your dreams not happening is not what winners and achievers do. Enduring hard times, keeping your optimistic mind above pessimistic waters, are the way achievers and winners attain the goals they strive for in life.
